Safety Starts with Leadership
At WEBB, safety is more than a requirement; it is a core value that guides how we plan, manage, and deliver projects. During Construction Safety Week 2026 (May 4–8), we reaffirm our commitment to protecting the people behind the work and ensuring every job site operates with safety at the forefront.
As the Construction Management and Inspection team representing the client, WEBB plays a critical role in setting expectations and fostering a culture where safety is proactively planned, openly discussed, and consistently reinforced. This year’s Construction Safety Week focus, Recognize, Respond, and Respect, reflects how we approach safety every day: recognizing high‑energy hazards early, responding through thoughtful planning and coordination, and respecting the workforce by empowering them to speak up and stop unsafe conditions.
About Construction Safety Week
Construction Safety Week began in 2014, when more than 40 national and global construction firms through the Construction Industry Safety Initiative (CISI) and the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) CEO Forum joined forces with a single goal: to inspire everyone in the industry to be leaders in safety.
In 2016, Safety Week evolved into a fully integrated, industry‑wide annual campaign with a growing network of members and sponsors. While the event lasts one week, its impact extends year-round, strengthening safety culture and supporting the well-being of workers across the construction industry.
Our Shared Mission
Construction Safety Week is guided by a clear and lasting mission to:
- Celebrate the efforts of workers and organizations nationwide who make safety a priority
- Increase awareness and action among skilled craft professionals, project leaders, and business leaders
- Encourage collaboration and the sharing of best practices to strengthen industry safety culture
- Provide resources and support to ensure workers are fully prepared, mind and body, for the work at hand
- Promote year‑round safety awareness activities on jobsites
At its core, Safety Week reinforces a shared commitment to empower every person on a jobsite, from skilled craft professionals to project and business leaders, to speak up and act on potential risks. It advocates for improved safety processes, mental health resources, and equipment standards that reduce the risk of injury and create safer work environments. Most importantly, it recognizes the impact safe choices have on workers, their families, and the communities where we live and work.
A Commitment That Lasts Beyond One Week
Safety begins long before construction starts. Through close collaboration with owners, designers, and contractors, WEBB integrates safety into planning, scheduling, and execution, helping create projects where people come first, and everyone goes home safely. Construction Safety Week is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and recommit to that mission to keep everyone safe every day on every jobsite.
Together, we are building a stronger, safer construction industry.
