Excellence in Irrigation Design: WEBB Recognized by ASIC

Albert A. Webb Associates received an Honor Award from the American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC) as part of the 2025 Excellence in Irrigation Awards Program. The award recognizes exceptional innovation, technical excellence, and sustainability in irrigation design. The recognition highlights WEBB’s Landscape Architecture work on the Crossroads North Commercial project, a complex master-planned development that requires a highly coordinated irrigation system using recycled water. The project includes nine individual retail pads, a multi‑purpose trail, and a water quality basin, all served by a single point of water connection. To meet site and regulatory constraints, the design team implemented a state‑of‑the‑art recycled water irrigation system featuring a smart two‑wire control system, moisture sensors for each hydrozone, filtration at the point of connection, booster pumping, master valve and flow monitoring, low‑precipitation rotary nozzles for slopes, point‑source emitters for narrow parkways, subsurface in‑line drip irrigation, and rootzone bubblers for trees. Delivering the project required more than a year of coordination with the water district, county agencies, and project stakeholders. Today, the system is considered a model for similar developments within the region’s water agency and demonstrates how thoughtful landscape architecture can advance sustainability while meeting complex operational demands.
